Rechargeable Batteries

Why use rechargeable batteries?

Rechargeable batteries are still something of a mystery to some. Though they have been around for a while, people will still question whether or not to use them, and also how to use them.

The truth is, rechargeable batteries are easy to use, long lasting, good for the environment, and money-saving. Digital cameras are an especially beneficial use for this type of battery, as regular batteries have a tendency to drain quickly and can become expensive to continually replace.

Other electronics are also prime uses for rechargeable batteries. Remote controls for the television will last for months and months on a single charge. Walkmans, toys, and even electronic toothbrushes will also last, and the best part is that when the charge does run down, there is no need to buy more. Instead, just replace the batteries with freshly charged ones.

Though rechargeable batteries will also have a shelf life, and will eventually need to be replaced, they still last long enough to make it worthwhile. With up to two years of use out of a set of batteries, the real question is, why not use rechargeable batteries?

What kind of batteries should I buy?

The most commonly used batteries for household use are AA and AAA. Check the equipment that you use the most to see what type of batteries you will need. If something is rarely used, it may not be prudent to buy an uncommon size in rechargeables for it.

If you often use a flashlight or some other device that might take larger batteries, you may want to invest in some of these. Larger batteries will often require a different type of charger, so it can be benificial to compare brands.
